Preston manager Paul Simpson has confirmed his interest in Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp, but fears the 21-year-old could be too expensive. The Iron have turned down one bid for Sharp from Sheffield Wednesday, while Preston asked about him this week.
Simpson told his club's website: "We made an enquiry at the start of last season and the start of the year.
"But the prices they were quoting were too much and I think the figure that they are talking about now is as well."
