Preston have released five players after their failure to reach the Championship play-offs. Michael Ricketts, 26, Pavel Pergl, 29, Ashley Parillon, 19, Ben Hinchcliffe, 18 and Warren Beattie, 20, have all been let go by North End.
Midfielder Frank Songo'o, 19, who played six games for Preston on loan, has returned to Portsmouth.
The five released players are all now eligible to find themselves new clubs for next season.
