Preston manager Paul Simpson has decided against signing the two players he had on trial at the club. Troyes striker George Ba, 27, and Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Richard Knopper, 29, trained with North End.
And the two players featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wolves at Deepdale on Wednesday.
"I didn't feel they would improve our squad," Simpson told the club's website. "There are a couple of other names that I have in mind."
Ba has played for five other French clubs while Knopper was Ajax's player of the year in 1999.
