Paul Simpson has been named as the new manager of Preston North End. Simpson, 39, joins the Deepdale club from Carlisle and replaces Billy Davies, who has left Preston to become the new boss at Derby County.
Simpson, whose previous clubs include Rochdale, Blackpool and Walsall, has signed a three-year deal with the Deepdale club.
The 39-year-old enjoyed a successful time at Carlisle leading the Cumbrians to back-to-back promotions.
