Preston's feats have brought Davies to prominence |
Preston boss Billy Davies says he is in "no rush" to leave Deepdale. Former Motherwell boss Davies has been linked with a return to Scotland with Hearts after Preston missed out in the Championship play-offs.
But Davies told the Edinburgh Evening News: "I'll only leave if myself and the board feel it is the right thing for the club.
"I'm sure there's going to be lots of speculation during the summer but I am not in any rush to leave the place."
Davies has been in charge at Preston since taking over from former Scotland boss Craig Brown in August 2004.
His feat in guiding North End to the play-offs in successive seasons has brought him to the attention of bigger clubs.
Davies said: "It's like anything else, who knows? All I can say is I have had a wonderful time at this football club.
"It's been a tremendous memory for me, but you can't stop progress for anyone.
"When you take a club of this size with these resources to the play-offs then it is going to be special."
