Preston midfielder Tyrone Mears is delighted to have put his injury worries behind him after signing a new three-year contract. The 22-year-old has been plagued by various problems since joining North End from Manchester City in 2002.
Mears told the club website: "I was out for 10 months so you worry about what is going to happen to you.
"You need to be in the team but Preston have been very good to me and I can't speak more highly of the manager."
Meers added: "Last season to get the stress fracture was very hard but that's all behind me now and I'm looking forward to a fresh start with a three-year deal."
