Preston have signed striker Jemal Johnson on a month's loan from neighbours Blackburn. The 20-year-old, who was born in the United States, goes straight into the North End squad for Saturday's Championship game against Leicester.
He has made five substitute appearances for Rovers in the Premiership, including two earlier this season.
His only first-team start came in the FA Cup last season, when he scored against Colchester in round four.
North End trio Chris Lucketti, Graham Alexander and Brian O'Neil have all signed one-year contract extensions which keep them at Deepdale until the summer of 2007.
