Preston North End have completed the signing of midfielder Adam Nowland from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. The 24-year-old has joined initially on a short-term loan but will sign on a permanent basis early next week.
"He's a player we've been looking at and we're delighted to have him on board," said Preston boss Billy Davies.
"He's one of the players who was on the list, which is good, and I think he'll be a great addition to the competition that we have for first team places."
Nowland joined Forest from West Ham for 250,000 in November 2004 but only made five appearances for the Reds in an injury-plagued spell.
