Preston sign Curtis
John Curtis in action for Portsmouth
Blackburn paid 1.5m for Curtis
Preston have signed former Manchester United defender John Curtis on loan from Premiership side Portsmouth.

The 25-year-old Nuneaton-born defender will go straight into the squad for Saturday's match with unbeaten Stoke.

He is manager Billy Davies' first signing since he took temporary charge of the club following the departure of Craig Brown.

"John has an excellent pedigree and I am delighted that he has decided to join us," said Davies.

Blackburn paid 1.5m for Curtis in June 2000 and the defender spent three years at the club before leaving for Sheffield United, Leicester and eventually Portsmouth.
