Portsmouth have signed Aston Villa midfielder Jonathan Hogg on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old, who had a loan spell at Darlington last season, has made six Premier League appearances for Villa this season.
He made his Villa debut in August and signed a new deal in December that ties him to the club until 2013.
Villa boss Gerard Houllier told the club website: "This move will greatly assist his career development."
