But Hart, who stepped from leading Pompey's youth development programme to take on the caretaker role after Tony Adams's sacking last week, said he thoroughly enjoyed his return to management.
"There was a little bit of a tingle in my stomach that I haven't felt for four or five years," added Hart, whose last managerial role was at Rushden and Diamonds in 2006.
Caretaker Hart praises Pompey workrate
"Because I've not been around management for a few years it was a day of not really knowing what to expect. Working with the players for just a day you don't get to see them at full pelt.
"You wonder 'have you got this right?' that sort of thing. But I saw it in the players' eyes that they were determined and I felt comforted by that."
Saturday's win moved Portsmouth up to 15th in the table and four points above the relegation zone.
