Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar looks set for a lengthy absence after tearing a groin muscle.
The Croatia international, 24, missed the beginning of the season following an ankle operation and has made only 10 starts this season.
"It looks a bad one and we'll miss him for what I believe will be quite a while," said Pompey boss Tony Adams.
Kranjcar joined Portsmouth from Hajduk Split for 3.5m in 2006 and has scored seven times in 50 league starts.
