Former Reading man Little has had an injury-ravaged past year
Portsmouth's Glen Little has said he is hoping to feature in the Uefa Cup game against Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday.
The former Reading winger made his full Pompey debut on Sunday, in the 2-0 win over Tottenham at Fratton Park.
Little told BBC Radio Solent: "It's been a bit strange but if people are out injured and players have left, it gives others a chance."
The 32-year-old only managed two substitute appearances at Reading last season due to injuries.
Little is looking at Richard Hughes' run in the first-team as an example to follow.
He said: "The last two games Richard has come in and done really well, maybe people might not have thought he'd play but once you get the shirt it's up to you to keep it."
Pompey hold a 2-0 advantage heading into the first-round second leg tie at the Stadio Del Afonso Henriques.
