Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch says he would welcome the arrival of winger Shaun Wright-Phillips at Fratton Park.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has publicly declared his admiration for Wright-Phillips, who could be tempted away from Chelsea.
The 26-year-old would be likely to command a fee upwards of �10m.
Crouch told BBC Radio Solent: "Shaun is a fantastic player. If the manager can pull the signing off, it would be great for everyone here."
Redknapp has stated that he would need to sell some of his fringe squad players, in order to release the funds to make further big-money signings.
Crouch signed for Pompey from Liverpool for �11m earlier this month.
