Portsmouth assistant manager Tony Adams has agreed a new one-year deal with the FA Cup winners, according to the club's chief executive Peter Storrie.
The former Arsenal and England defender has been Harry Redknapp's right-hand man since 2006 and his current one-year contract is about to expire.
But with the club taking part in the Uefa Cup next season, the 41-year-old has agreed to remain at Fratton Park.
"It has been verbally agreed for him to stay," said Storrie.
"Obviously we are delighted with this news as he has become a key part of what we are trying to achieve at this football club."
Pompey insist the 24-year-old is not one of the five stars they want to sign this summer.
The club's communications director Gary Double said: "There is no truth in this report at all."
