Portsmouth striker Kanu is set to discuss a new contract with the club.
The 31-year-old's current deal expires this summer but he has the option of another one-year deal after playing 20 games for Pompey last term.
And Kanu, who scored the winner in Saturday's FA Cup final win against Cardiff, has said he wants to stay.
He told BBC Radio Solent: "I like playing and enjoying my football. I love it here, I love the supporters. It's left to the club now."
In February, the former Nigeria international was linked with a move to Australia.
His agent, Samuel Okoronkwo, claimed Gold Coast Galaxy had expressed an interest in signing Kanu when they enter the Australian A league later this year.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp dismissed the rumours at the time.
He said: "I think he wants to stay here. The lad seems to be happy and I don't want him to go anywhere. He has been terrific for me.
"He is out of contract at the end of the season but I want him to stay here - and I think he wants to stay."
