Cole joined Portsmouth in August 2006 |
Portsmouth striker Andrew Cole has been having injections to ease the pain of a toe injury but is set to miss Sunday's game against former club Blackburn. The 35-year-old was substituted during Pompey's last game, at Manchester City.
"He has had a problem with his toe and has been in pain so we hope the injections settle it down," said Pompey boss Harry Redknapp.
"But I've got three others to choose from up front, Benjani, Lomana LuaLua and Kanu - so it's not a problem."
Benjani did not make the 16-man squad for the match at City on 10 February.
But Redknapp revealed he is a big admirer of the club 4.4m record signing from Auxerre in January 2006.
"I love Benjani," confirmed Redknapp.
"He always works so hard but on certain days you fancy one pairing more than another up front.
"It is a juggling act when you've got a decent squad."
