 Midfielder Viafara failed to make an impact at Real Sociedad |
Midfielder John Viafara will return to Portsmouth after Real Sociedad turned down the option to buy him. Colombia international Viafara joined the Primera Liga outfit on a six-month loan but failed to make an impact.
Viafara, 27, joined Pompey from Colombian club Once Caldas but was shipped out after Harry Redknapp returned as manager in November.
Real's website said: "He won't continue at Sociedad, the club have turned down the offer to buy his sporting rights."
