Linvoy Primus has been rewarded for helping Portsmouth avoid relegation with a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2008. Despite having money to spend in the summer, manager Harry Redknapp has decided to stick with the former Reading player, who is 33 in September. He joined Pompey on a free transfer from the Royals in July 2000. Primus said: "I want to finish my career here. This takes me closer to achieving that."
