Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp maintained the appointment of Velimir Zajec as executive director had no bearing on Manchester City's victory. Redknapp said: "The events of the last week don't have an effect. There are no excuses there for the defeat.
"We keep going. It has been a great two and half years and I have loved every minute of it and no-one could have done a better job than I have.
"Until it's not workable I'm here," the Portsmouth manager added.
