Port Vale's Marc Richards dedicates goals to team-mate
Richards has been named captain by manager Jim Gannon
Port Vale striker Marc Richards dedicated his two goals against Shrewsbury to team-mate Gary Roberts.
Richards, who has 17 goals this season, says his brace in Tuesday's 2-2 draw were for the midfielder who returned from a three-game suspension.
Roberts has found life difficult under manager Jim Gannon and Richards told BBC Radio Stoke the goals were for him.
"Gaz has been missed over the last few weeks. When he's in the team he shows what ability he's got," he said.
Richards also praised the team's morale having coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Shrewsbury.
The Vale captain insists they must now follow that up by beating Oxford United at Vale Park on Saturday.
"We have the players with ability to get back into games and that is what you need, but we need a good performance against Oxford and we have to be looking to win that game," he added.
