Port Vale have confirmed they will hold talks with potential investors from the United States on Friday.
The club's board rejected a £500,000 takeover offer from New York businessman Mike Newton in August.
A statement on the Vale website said: "Directors will be meeting with potential investors from the United States on Friday.
"As these talks are at a very preliminary stage it would be inappropriate to comment further."
