Dave Brammer rejoined Port Vale on a free transfer from Millwall in January
Port Vale veteran Dave Brammer intends to move into football management when he finishes his playing career.
The 34-year-old former Crewe and Stoke midfielder, who is taking his coaching badges, told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm still a player first and foremost.
"I've still got the desire. But I'm working hard on getting my education right to hopefully one day become a coach or manager.
"I'm doing some work at Wrexham, and am doing a course in the summer."
Brammer, who started with Wrexham and also played for Millwall, is one of only a handful of players to have turned out for all three local rivals Port Vale, Crewe, and Stoke City during his career. And he admits that he is looking for a new contract at the end of the season at Vale Park.
"The thing that keeps me going is that when I've played I feel I've been ok.

"Hopefully it's Port Vale, but if I can get a club for next season, I'm sure I could have at least another season if not two."
Brammer, who was released by Millwall in January after re-joining Vale initially on loan, has been limited to just eight appearances because of a knee injury.
But he returned from two months on the sidelines for the reserves on Tuesday night. And he insists that he is ready to go straight into the Vale team.
"At my age I've got the know-how and knowledge to get me a through a game when I'm not 100 per cent fit," he said.
"I've done it before so hopefully I can come in and give the team a bit of guidance that I was brought in to do, but obviously haven't been able to do often enough."
