Port Vale left in late on deadline day to sign 18-year-old central defender Mitch Hanson on loan from Derby until the end on the season.

The former England Under-18 international has another year left on his contract at Pride Park, but will look to impress ahead of next season.

But Hanson will not be available for immediate selection as he is struggling with a calf injury.

A versatile player, he can also play at right-back or as a holding midfielder.
