Vale keeper Anyon answers critics
Port Vale goalkeeper Joe Anyon has hit back at fans who have been critical of his recent performances.

The 21-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke: "I want the fans to know that I'm giving 110%.

"Playing for Port Vale means a lot to me and being at the bottom of the league hurts."

The 21-year-old is an ever present so far this season for Vale, and has been the subject of interest from clubs in the Premier League and Championship.

"Some fans might think I should have left in January, but I've come through the ranks here and I'm a Vale fan," said Anyon. "I'm doing everything I can to make sure Port Vale are not in League Two next year.

"It's not nice to be in relegation trouble as it has an effect on your life, but it's up to us to get out of that trouble."

Anyon joined the Vale as a trainee and made his first team debut in 2006. He has since appeared over 50 times for the Valiants.
