Port Vale midfielder Robin Hulbert faces six weeks out of action after breaking his collarbone. The 27-year-old picked up the injury in last Saturday's 3-1 victory over Millwall at Vale Park.
Confirmation of Hulbert's latest setback is likely to increase manager Lee Sinnott's determination to bring in a central midfielder this month.
The injury is the latest setback for the former Bristol City player who signed for Vale in the summer of 2004.
Hulbert had only recently forced his way back into the Vale side and has impressed with his combative performances.
