 Waterlogged pitch forces Vale to cancel cup tie |
Port Vale's FA Youth Cup match at home to Tottenham Hotspur has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Tonights fifth round tie was called off after an early pitch inspection by Football League referee Tony Bates.
Wednesday night's game has yet to be rearranged but the cancellation will please first team manager Lee Sinnott.
The Vale boss will now have youth players Danny Glover, Chris Martin and James Lawrie fit and rested for Saturday's trip to leaders Swansea.
