| Port Vale's caretaker boss Dean Glover likened his side to a "pub team" after they lost 4-2 on penalties to Morecambe in the Johnstone's Paints Trophy. Despite taking a two-goal lead in the first half, Vale lost their lead to end the game drawn at 2-2. Glover said: "I am angry more than disappointed. We had a good bit of fortune and scored two goals but in general play we were woeful." He told the club's website: "This team is going nowhere at the moment."
