Port Vale manager Martin Foyle has given trials to two potential signings. Liam Buchanan and Rhys Weston have spent the last few days training with the League One side.
Weston, 26, is a former Arsenal and Cardiff City defender, who has recently returned from a spell in Norway after leaving Cardiff in early September.
Buchanan finished as top scorer in Scottish Division Two with Cowdenbeath last season, but has returned to Scotland after picking up an injury.
