Port Vale have appointed chairman Bill Bratt as a paid chief executive after the move was recommended in report into the club's financial running. The board of directors unanimously agreed the move.
Vice-chairman Peter Jackson said: "Without Bill we would have to appoint a chief executive so we decided to offer him the post.
"He deserves the opportunity for what he has done so far in saving the Vale and achieveing financial stability."
