Ian Brightwell has decided to leave his role as Port Vale youth team coach. The former Manchester City defender was assistant boss at the club but was replaced by Dean Glover when manager Martin Foyle took over in February.
"Ian has decided not accept the new position and I fully understand his reasons, but he'll be a big loss to the club," Foyle told BBC Radio Stoke.
Brightwell has been linked with a move to Macclesfield where he would team up again with Brian Horton.
