Sturrock optimistic despite losing McNamee for Arsenal clash

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock has been encouraged by his side's performance, despite their 1-0 defeat by Cardiff.

"I'm very pleased in general," he told BBC Radio Devon. "So many times we stick to the same team, but we needed freshness and that's what we achieved.

"We created so many chances. It was a much better performance than when we were away to Barnsley the other week."

David McNamee was sent off against Cardiff and will now miss Saturday's FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

The defender was shown the red card for a deliberate foul on Michael Chopra late in the game.
