Marin helped Saint Etienne to promotion to Ligue1 during his career

Plymouth have signed midfielder Nicolas Marin on loan for the season from French top-flight side Lorient.

Marin, 28, has had spells at Auxerre, Saint-Etienne and Sedan and helped Lorient stay in Ligue 1 last season.

"He's a wide-right player who has played five or six years in the French top flight," Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock told the club's website.

Meanwhile, Plymouth have turned Paul Gallagher's emergency loan into a season-long switch from Blackburn.
