Doumbe missed just three matches this season |
Plymouth Argyle defender Mathias Doumbe has agreed a new two-year contract to stay at Home Park. The 26-year-old has been a regular in the Argyle side and made 43 appearances last season.
"I'm delighted. We have been talking about it for a good part of the season," said the Frenchman.
"Last season, I was a new player in the team and I didn't play straight away, so this season I wanted to settle. I was really happy this season."
Doumbe's previous contract was due to expire this summer and he has committed himself to Argyle until the summer of 2008.
And boss Tony Pulis told the Plymouth Evening Herald: "He had a fantastic end to the season. He's still young and has a lot of assets.
"I'm not saying he has reached his full potential by any means. There is still room for improvement, but this is very good news for the football club."
