Doumbe joined Argyle on a free transfer from Hibs |
Plymouth manager Bobby Williamson has played down speculation Everton hope to sign Argyle defender Mathias Doumbe during the January transfer window. Williamson says he has had no contact with the Toffees about the 25-year-old Frenchman, who joined Argyle from Hibernian last summer.
"There are representatives from loads of clubs at games every week," he said.
"To suggest Everton are looking at someone in particular is misleading. I have had no dialogue with Everton."
Argyle chairman Paul Stapleton told the Plymouth Evening Herald: "We would expect a lot of clubs to be watching our players because they are all good quality but may be an unknown quantity to some managers.
"As far as we are concerned, Mathias is doing a good job and is very settled here."
