Kanu's former clubs incvlude Inter Milan and Ajax |
Peterborough have signed Christopher Kanu after the defender passed an intensive medical. Kanu had a trial with Posh before trying his luck at QPR, who fielded the Nigerian in two friendly matches.
But the player did not convince Rangers that he was worth a regular place in their first-team and he returned to London Road.
Posh have now signed Kanu - brother of Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu - on a two-year deal, which he penned during half-time on the opening day of the season when Peterborough lost 4-3 to Hartlepool.
"I am pleased to be here and I am keen to get into the team and play," Kanu told the club's official website.
"The fans were great and I want to do well at Peterborough United.
"We have to improve on the performance against Hartlepool.
"I watched the second half in the stand and we need to do better.
"The players need to learn from that and, hopefully, I can help them."
Kanu is not expected to get the necessary clearance to play in the Carling Cup against Coventry and should make his debut in the league meeting at Brentford on Saturday.
