McCall will make sweeping changes at Partick Thistle

The new Jags boss has released a total of 13 players with only Jimmy Gibson being offered a new deal.

McCall said: I know the kind of players I want to attract at this club and we are already making moves on that front.

"I built attractive and winning sides at Airdrie and Falkirk and that is my target for Partick Thistle and to do that we need a clear-out."

McCall, who has previously managed Queen of the South and Dundee United, also wants to shake up the First Division club's youth system.

"The club needs a complete overhaul and the youth set-up is something I will be looking at immediately," he added.

Striker Derek Young and goalkeeper Kenny Arthur are already attracting interest from other clubs, according to the Scottish Daily Express.

Young is interesting Hamilton Academical and Queen of the South, while Accrington Stanley may make a move for Arthur.

Former Clyde manager Gardner Speirs was appointed assistant manager to McCall at a media conference on Wednesday.

Speirs said: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to get back into football and am looking forward to the challenge.
