Oxford trialist Michael Husbands has been urged to capitalise on his opportunity with United by manager Darren Patterson.
The U's boss told BBC Oxford that this could be the perfect way for the Macclesfield forward to get his career back on track.
"For whatever reason he's had lots of clubs, but you can see his sharpness.
"Maybe this is the last chance saloon for Michael. He needs a club where he plays regularly and scores goals."
Husbands has been joined on trial at the Kassam Stadium by Macclesfield teamate Levi Reid.
The club have also confirmed and that they will not be offering a contract to another trialist, striker Craig Reid.
