The 22-year-old, who was released by the Imps just before the end of January, is in the United squad to face Forest Green on Saturday.

U's boss Darren Patterson told BBC Radio Oxford: "He's hungry to play and that is the main thing."

Semple, who has also had loan spells at Rushden & Diamonds and Chester, started his career at Peterborough.
