Oxford United have signed Ipswich striker Jordan Rhodes on a one-month loan deal. Rhodes was given his first professional deal, a two-year contract, in August.
"Jordan has gone to Oxford to get some first-team experience. It's the next step of his development," Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told his club's website.
The 17-year-old will go straight into Oxford's squad for the Blue Square Premier match against Torquay at the Kassam Stadium on Thursday evening.
Rhodes has been a regular goalscorer at youth and reserve team level at Portman Road since joining Ipswich from Barnsley.
He is the son of former Oldham keeper and current Ipswich goalkeeping coach Andy Rhodes.
