Oxford forward Jamie Brooks was pleased to return to first-team action in the defeat by Rochdale, after spending more than two years out with illness. Brooks' last appearance for the U's came in April 2002, although he had a spell on loan at Tamworth last season.
Having been struck down with Guillain-Barr Syndrome, the 21-year-old told OXford's website: "There was a lot of time when I didn't think I'd get there.
"But hopefully, people will see I'm getting back to the old Jamie Brooks."
