Oldham Athletic midfielder Andy Liddell will be out of action for three months as he needs surgery on his Achilles. Liddell who has already been out for nine weeks with the injury was given the okay from his specialist to return to training but broke down again.
The former Wigan man, 34, will now undergo further surgery in January.
Boss John Sheridan told his club website: "He is a big loss, but there's nothing we can do about it and we hope he'll get back to full fitness soon."
