Oldham defender Neal Eardley has been rewarded with his first professional contract from the club. The Wales Under-21 right-back, who made his debut last season's final game with Scunthorpe, has signed a deal to keep him at Boundary Park until June 2009.
Eardley, 18, was sent off in the first game of this season, but has since returned to make some impressive performances.
Liverpool are reportedly one of many top clubs checking his progress.
