Preston goalkeeper Chris Neal is to link up with Oldham with a view to a possible loan move. Neal is set to play in two friendlies for the Latics while first-choice Les Pogliacomi recovers from knee surgery.
"Chris needs games. Even if nothing more comes of it he will get two more games than he would here," Preston boss Paul Simpson told his club's website.
Neal, 20, has made one appearance for Preston but spent time on loan at Conference club Tamworth last year.
