Moore unveiled as Oldham manager
Ronnie Moore
Moore was at Millmoor for seven-and-a-half years
Ronnie Moore admitted he is facing a tough task after taking over as Oldham manager until the end of the season.

The 52-year-old, who left Rotherham in January by mutual consent, replaces Brian Talbot who departed the Latics after a run of seven straight defeats.

And a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield on Saturday left Oldham just one point above the League One relegation zone.

Moore said: "There's Luton, Hull, Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford all to play yet but we've got to be positive."

Moore won many admirers at Rotherham after leading them to successive promotions and establishing them in the old Division One on a shoestring budget.

John Breckin who was Moore's assistant at Millmoor also moves to Boundary Park.

And Moore has no reservations about being offered a deal only until the end of the current campaign.

He added: "It suits both parties at the present time, we've plenty to be getting on with and we'll sit down and see where we are at the end of the season."
