Oldham have announced plans for a new 20m stadium either at Boundary Park or at an alternative site in the town. The Latics have already opened talks with the town council about a 20,000-seat stadium that would be shared with rugby league side Oldham Roughyeds.
"There's no timescale and we'd need planning permission, but we got a very positive response," Oldham co-owner and managing director Simon Corney said.
"This is an ambitious scheme but Oldham deserves a new, exciting facility."
Corney and American-based co-owners Simon Blitz and Danny Gazal will be making a significant contribution towards the cost, and also looking to the private sector for funding.
