Notts County have unveiled John Armstrong-Holmes as the League Two club's acting chairman. Holmes is a member of the Notts County Supporters Trust and takes over from Jeff Moore, who resigned on Monday.
The Magpies have also announced that Peter Dennis has been appointed to the club board as a director.
Armstrong-Holmes told BBC Radio Nottingham: "There's no doubt Notts County in the fourth tier of football need investment. It's ongoing."
Armstrong-Holmes added: "Anybody who invests money in something wants some return but when you've only got 4,000 fans - a hardcore situation - it is very difficult proposition to attract somebody in."
