Notts County chairman Jeff Moore has urged newly appointed manager Steve Thompson to work closely with technical director Howard Wilkinson. Moore said: "There will be an important role for Howard with his great experience in helping us move forward.
"The problem in the past is that managers have not tapped into this and I want Steve to use Howard.
"Howard has a lot to give and was the last Englishman to win the league in the top flight of English football."
