Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies wants Majewski deal
Poland international Majewksi has won six caps
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has implored the club's board to hurry up and sign on-loan midfielder Radoslaw Majewski on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old Pole was left out of the starting line-up for Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday because Davies said his "head was not right".
Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I've said the player should be signed but the negotiations are dragging out.
"He wants to stay and I want him to stay. We have to get him tied up."
Forest are in third spot in the Championship table, having lost just once in 21 league games.
But the Reds failed to sign anyone during the January transfer window, despite Davies giving the board a list of targets.
And in a thinly-veiled attack on the Forest hierarchy Davies has urged them to ensure that Poland international Majewski, who is on a year-long loan from Polonia Warsaw, does not move elsewhere.
"I'm worried about the lad because his head is away," Davies added. "He's concerned by the lack of contract negotiations.
"It seems to be taking a bit of time and is now affecting him.
"I'm trying to keep his head up and tell him that he is part of this club but at the moment he is beginning to question what the situation is and what his long-term future is.
"I'm hoping we can sort something out sooner rather than later. We've got to get things tidied up quickly."
Forest chief executive Mark Arthur says he understands Davies' disappointment at the lack of new arrivals last month.
The club were chasing a trio of players during January but ultimately missed out on all three.
Left-back Nicky Shorey, who had been on loan spell at the City Ground, joined Fulham until the end of the season, Crystal Palace forward Victor Moses moved to Premier League side Wigan Athletic and Swansea City were unwilling to sell midfielder Darren Pratley.
Arthur explained: "We're all very disappointed that we were unable to get any of our targets.
"The reality is that we went for three people once we realised that [Tottenham left-back] Gareth Bale was completely out of the question.
"Unfortunately for three good reasons none of those deals materialised.
"We only wanted to bring in players that would add to the quality of the squad rather than bring in average players to bulk out the squad.
"We have to live within our means and what we won't do is put this club in a financially disastrous position. You have to be sensible."
