Calderwood's men ended the season in tremendous fashion
Manager Colin Calderwood says Nottingham Forest are in good shape to live with the biggest clubs in the Championship after their promotion.
"We've been very respectful to the future of the club," he said after the 3-2 win over Yeovil and Doncaster's defeat at Cheltenham sent Forest up.
"The chairman and chief executive take a lot of credit for the idea and focus they've had in the last two years.
"We can compete with anyone financially in certain areas in the Championship."
Forest won six out of their last seven league games to overhaul Carlisle and Doncaster in claiming the second automatic promotion spot behind champions Swansea.
There are people here who have never seen success and that's why the players this season will become heroes to them

On a dramatic final day, Forest were cruising to victory against the Glovers but nerves suddenly took over.
"When the boys heard Doncaster were losing we became negative and wanted the 90 minutes to ebb away," Calderwood added.
"We played horribly but we've ended up having the perfect result.
"It's a wonderful story - not the best story in Nottingham Forest's history - but there are people here who have never seen success, young supporters, and that's why the players this season will become heroes to them.
"This group of players is a young group with a sparse amount of experience, there weren't too many promotion winners.
"But they had a fantastic attitude to defeats we had and they were resolute. When the pressure suddenly came off it went in our favour in the last five or six games."
